The Therapy at Home STEM: Build it with Bricks Program combines the fun of LEGO®, the skill-building benefits of occupational therapy and the joy of STEM learning. It aims to nurture confidence, foster skills and develop self-esteem.
This program has been created in partnership with our paediatric therapists and Ryan Evans – the founder of Brickulum, a LEGO® Masters finalist and a Grand Masters semi-finalist.
With engaging activities and structured learning experiences, children will deepen their understanding of STEM concepts, explore their creativity and practice resilience through trial and error.

The Therapy at Home STEM: Build it with Bricks Program offers a blend of therapeutic and educational experiences centred around discovery, exploration and skill development.
Through hands-on STEM activities (that’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), children will have the opportunity to practice critical thinking, problem-solving, fine motor and collaboration skills.
Ryan Evans, LEGO® Masters finalist and Brickulum founder, guides participants through a series of LEGO® builds with enthusiasm, clever supporting questions and all the hallmarks of a growth mindset.
The program is delivered via a series of online training videos with Ryan, and a toolkit that’s delivered right to your door. Excitingly, this toolkit includes a LEGO® Education BriQ Motion Essential 500+ piece set that’ll have children building everything from a pull-back car to a cantilever.
The projects in the online videos first introduce children to the science, engineering or mathematics concepts that will be explored using LEGO®. Then, they will be guided through step by step build instructions that shows these concepts in action. Following this, children will be encouraged to consider how they can use the new skills and concepts that they explored in other LEGO® builds.
We offer a range of Build it with Bricks Programs, but they are not a prerequisite here. In fact, this program is a different offering to our existing LEGO® lineup. Where the previous three programs focused largely on language and social skills, this program focuses more on problem-solving skills, and developing a solution-focused mindset when faced with challenges.
PLEASE NOTE: The essential components of the toolbox generally don’t change over time unless we are making improvements to the overall program. The specific tools included may differ at times in terms of brand, colour, and other cosmetic differences due to sourcing factors out of our control. This will not affect the therapeutic benefits of the program as intended for the participant. We recommend you only order one program per participant to ensure the appropriate use of funds. We cannot tailor toolboxes or programs to suit specific requests at this time. If you order a program for multiple participants they will receive the same program and toolbox. What's in the toolbox?
The Therapy at Home STEM: Build it with Bricks Program comes with a toolbox of resources delivered to your door that aligns with the skill-building modules in the online program. This toolbox provides a practical and playful element that your child can engage with as they follow along with the videos.
The toolbox includes*:
✓ LEGO® Education BriQ Motion Essential 500+ piece set for use in the five projects and to inspire creative learning and play
✓ Rubber bands to use in construction projects
✓ Four customised Instruction Booklets designed to get you started with learning and applying the fundamental concepts in the program
✓ A facilitator pamphlet to support the delivery of the therapy program at home

What skills will we build?
The Therapy at Home STEM: Build it with Bricks Program focuses on skill development in the following areas:
✓ Cognitive function skills built progressively across the program as participants apply their STEM learning and troubleshoot throughout their LEGO® builds
✓ Emotional regulation skills as participants are encouraged to adopt a solutions-focused mindset and persevere throughout setbacks
✓ Self-confidence and pride as participants progress towards their goal despite challenges, apply their new skills to their LEGO® creations and connect with others through their love of LEGO®
✓ Executive function skills through following the step-by-step tasks required to build STEM LEGO®
✓ Fine motor skills through opening packets, connecting and separating blocks and finessing their creations
✓ Language and communication skills as children listen to instructions and express their thoughts, feelings and challenges in response to the open questions throughout the program
Optional Individual Therapy Consult
When purchasing this program, you have the option to enhance your child’s therapeutic journey with an individual therapy consult. Choose from an AHA Consult, OT Consult, Speech Consult, or Request a Standard Assessment & Report. These personalised consultations provide you with the opportunity to connect with our team of experienced Allied Health Assistants, Occupational Therapists, or Speech Therapists. During the consult, you can discuss your child’s unique needs, receive expert guidance, and tailor the program to ensure the best possible outcomes for your child.
This is not compulsory, if selected our admin team will contact you to arrange an appointment time. All consults will be invoiced separately.
Outcome Report
This program comes with an outcome report for NDIS review purposes.
Parents/guardians must submit online questionnaires measuring the child’s progress before and after the program as a requirement for obtaining the outcome report.

Therapy at Home provides the option for an outcome report to be included with all Programs. These reports are a summary of the specific program outcomes measured as a result of participating in a specific Therapy at Home Program. This is not a report for decision-making at the full plan level. This is not a report for an end-of-plan review from which a planner can use to make decisions about future funds at a whole plan level.
