Recognising the diverse ways in which individuals process information, the Therapy at Home Regulation: Attention and Learning Program seeks to support children in understanding their individual regulation needs within a group learning environment.

The toolbox offers a variety of options for children to explore to maximise their attention and focus for learning including tools for tactile, oral and visual input that can be used discreetly in the classroom environment.

This program also includes a Reflection Card Set which has been designed by our therapists to foster a proactive approach to managing individual regulation needs and to encourage children to actively engage in managing and communicating their regulation experiences. The reflection cards prompt children to assess and record their emotional state, concentration levels and learning preferences, and to consider the needs of others in the shared learning space.

To further support children in the learning environment, this program includes a Teacher Information Pamphlet and video from our therapists that can be provided to educators for further understanding on the use of regulation tools in the classroom setting.

This program also includes a book written by a young author about regulation in the classroom setting. Stims, School and Me explores one child’s experience with implementing regulation tools at school. By sharing their insights, self-reflection tools and learnings due to trial and error, this story explores the journey to find ‘stim solvers’ and avoid ‘stim fails’ in the classroom.

The ultimate goal of this program is to support children, and those who support them, to develop their regulation and communication skills to thrive in the learning environment.

PLEASE NOTE: The essential components of the toolbox generally don’t change over time unless we are making improvements to the overall program.
