The Therapy at Home Express Yourself Program aims to build skills through a series of projects that provide opportunities for self-expression, creative exploration and joy.

The projects include creating a bookmark, jewellery-making, designing your own hat and tote bag and clay-based activities. These projects are delivered using a set of instruction cards, guided videos and through engagement with the contents of the toolbox.

Each project includes one main activity that will be explained and modelled through the instruction cards and videos, to assist participants in learning new creative skills and techniques. They will then be offered further ideas to encourage ongoing exploration of these skills by applying them to new creations using their own adaptations.

The program also involves an initial vision-planning activity where participants explore and identify sources of inspiration, self-confidence boosters and strengths and qualities that are unique to them.

By engaging participants in hands-on tasks that support imagination and creativity, we hope that they will be supported to build skills, and experience a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence as they see their creations come to life.

Developing a range of functional skills through five hands-on creative self-expression projects:

  • Create a custom bookmark
  • Thread your own jewellery
  • Design a one-of-a-kind hat and tote bag
  • DIY nature pendants
  • Create and paint a clay pinch pot

PLEASE NOTE: The essential components of the toolbox generally don’t change over time unless we are making improvements to the overall program. The specific tools included may differ at times in terms of brand, colour and other cosmetic differences due to sourcing factors out of our control.
