The Therapy at Home Early Years: Tummy Time Program focuses on supporting parents to engage in safe, practical and interactive tummy time experiences with their baby. It aims to assist parents in developing the skills and confidence to support their babies developmental milestones.

Through The Play Way’s Early Years: Tummy Time Instruction Card Set and accompanying videos, parents will be guided to explore 11 different tummy time holds. These cards provide functional ideas for engaging in tummy time in a variety of ways and settings.

In doing so, the program seeks to showcase a range of options for how parents can effectively engage in tummy time. It encourages parents and babies to work together to find holds and positions that can be easily incorporated into an existing routine and make tummy time a positive experience for all.

To further support parents in keeping tummy time fun, there are a range of ideas for using songs, books, sensory experiences and people games during tummy time. These suggestions are outlined in the facilitator guide and supported by the accompanying videos. They are offered as further ways to play and extend the tummy time experience.

The program is supported by over 30 videos, so that parents can feel confident in delivering the therapy at home to support their baby’s developmental milestones using the equipment provided in the toolbox. In addition, the printed support materials have been designed especially with parents of newborns in mind, with options for interacting on a deep level using the facilitator guide or in a more exploratory way with the information card.

Above all, the Early Years: Tummy Time Program aims to give parents the confidence to recognise that the most valuable toy their baby needs is them.
