Hammock Swing

A hammock can be a highly effective tool for developing gross motor skills and providing sensory input for vestibular functioning and proprioceptive awareness. When set-up as a hammock swing, it provides an opportunity to experiment with different positions for improving core and upper body strength and provides stimulation for developing balance and coordination. When used to wrap or cocoon the body, the hammock swing provides proprioceptive input through pressure and movement, which is helpful for children when developing their sense of knowing where their body is in relation to other things.
